Businesses might not be able to pay you more, but States and the Federal gov’t should be suspending income tax for essential workers for the duration of the pandemic, like they’ve suspended wage garnishment. Or, (or AND) they could provide debt forgiveness for essential workers who are high risk of contracting the virus. If these people are heroes then it’s time to literally put money where their (leaders and officials) mouths are.
