Definitely interesting food for thought. It would be neat to have a sci-fi that takes this seriously into consideration. A silent film, almost, where self-replicating AI become entangled in whatever drama is possible at that level, with no sentient biological lifeforms anywhere in proximity. Maybe even one day one of those AIs makes sentient life on a planet, and then hides those lifeforms from the other AIs because it needs them for something. Combine the Zoo hypothesis with the creation myth all-in-one.
