Now replace ‘will of the States’ with ‘will of the elite financial class’ and we may be onto something. The NYSE didn’t exist when the constitution was drafted. The problem is no longer as simple as a balanced representation of the people vs. the States because now everything is a theater to cover for the wealth elite. TARP and the CARE act both demonstrated who is truly represented by our political class. I shouldn’t be, but I’m still surprised by how many people think anyone at all at the top gives a quantum of a damn about little guy citizen.
